Perc Up welcomes Dr Chris Davis as a 2014 percussion expert!

Dr. Christopher A. Davis teaches applied percussion at North Greenville University, where he also directs the NGU Percussion Ensemble and the NGU Marching Crusaders. Christopher has received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Percussion Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.  His teachers have included Eric Paton, Jim Ed Cobbs, Robert Breithaupt, Gary Olmstead, Michael Kinga, and Scott Herring.

Christopher has performed with numerous regional orchestras which include the Westerville Symphony Orchestra, the Central Ohio Symphony, the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC), the Spartanburg Philharmonic, and the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. He has also had the honor of performing at conferences for the Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA) and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) and has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) as a member of the Capital University Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band, the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps, and the IUP Percussion Ensemble.

Christopher has been a percussion specialist for the Centerville High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, the Hilliard Davidson High School Marching Band and Indoor Percussion Ensemble, the Penns Manor High School Marching Band, and the Westmont Hilltop High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble.
