Legacy Charter School World Percussion Ensemble
Jason Currin, Director
Legacy Charter School is a Greenville County school of choice, serving students in grades
K5 through high school. In addition to rigorous academic studies and a focus on health
and wellness, students at Legacy Charter School receive a well-rounded music
education, attending classes in general music, chorus, strings and percussion. Members
of the World Percussion Ensemble represent the best and brightest of LCS. Chosen not
only for their skill and work-ethic, ensemble members exemplify outstanding behavior
and team-work. Many students consistently achieve Honor Roll and participate in
Student Council, Safety Patrol and a variety of extracurricular activities.
Under the direction of Percussion Instructor, Jason Currin, students study instruments
and music from around the world. Lessons focus not only on performance practice, but
also draw cross-curricular connections to social studies, language arts, math and
science. Working together, students build valuable social skills that will lead beyond
college and into whatever career path they may choose.
Perc Up’s performers are members of 2nd through 6th grade classes.
